Have you ever heard the story of the shoemaker? The one who worked late into the night stitching leather, mending soles, and pouring his heart into every pair of shoes. Often without knowing if anyone would truly appreciate his craftsmanship.
Day after day he worked. Sometimes, customers praised his work. Other times, they complained, or worse, they did not come at all. He wondered if his hands were meant for something greater, if his effort mattered, if God saw him in his quiet little shop.
And then one evening, as he knelt by his workbench, exhausted, he heard a whisper in his heart: ” Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” (Colossians 3:23)
The shoemaker realized something that changed everything, he was not just making shoes. He was walking in his calling, using his hands to serve, to create, to provide. And even when the world overlooked his work, God never did.
THE ART OF NOT GIVING UP
There are moments when motivation feels as thin as worn-out leather, when doubt creeps in like shadows on the shop floor. You pour your heart into something, a dream, a project, a business, a ministry, but the results are not what you expected.
Maybe you are in that place right now, wondering if the effort is worth it. If your hands are working in vain.
But here is the truth: Your work matters. Even when you do not see immediate results. Even when it feels like no one is watching.
FAITH AND ENDURANCE GO HAND IN HAND.
Jesus himself was a carpenter. He understood craftmanship, patience and the weight of hard work. And yet, He was not just shaping wood, He was shaping eternity.
Likewise, every small act of faithfulness in your journey, every prayer whispered, every effort made, every lesson learned has eternal significance. God sees. He knows. And in His perfect timing, He weaves your persistence into something greater than you can imagine.
So, my friend, if today feels like another long night at the workbench, remember to take heart.
